Dominik Gaus studied trumpet with Prof. Malte Burba in Mainz and pursued his studies in Berlin at the Hanns Eisler School of Music where he graduated with a 'Bachelor of Music' degree.

Afterwards he did his 'Masters of Music' at the Berlin University of the Arts under Prof. Konradin Groth.

During his studies in the season 2013/14, he gained orchestral experience as Principal/Third Trumpet in the Brandenburg State Orchestra in Frankfurt/O. and furthermore founded the ensemble 'Berlin Brass Quintet' with university colleagues.

Since 2018 Dominik has been a member of the Berliner Symphoniker (Berlin Symphony Orchestra). Furthermore he regularly plays with the Brandenburger Symphoniker, Neubrandenburger Philharmonie, GermanPops Orchestra, Deutsches Kammerorchester Berlin and the Kammersymphonie Berlin.
