Dominik Gaus

Dominik was born in Haigerloch (Baden-Württemberg, Germany) and already took lessons with Prof. Malte Burba in Mainz during his time at school.  

After finishing high school, he pursued his studies in Mainz and later graduated in Berlin with a 'Bachelor of Music' degree at the Hanns Eisler School of Music.


In 2016, he began his 'Masters of Music' at the Berlin University of the Arts under Prof. Konradin Groth (former principal trumpet of Berlin Philharmonic) and graduated with very good success. 

As complement he studied in the postgraduate program 'Instrumental Soloist'.


Since March 2020, Dominik has been a member of the Berlin Symphony Orchestra (Berliner Symphoniker). Furthermore he regularly plays with the Brandenburger Symphoniker, Neubrandenburger Philharmonie, GermanPops Orchestra, Deutsches Kammerorchester Berlin and the Kammersymphonie Berlin.


During his studies, he gained orchestral experience as Principal/Third Trumpet in the Brandenburg State Orchestra in Frankfurt/Oder. (Internship, season 2013/14)

In addition, he played projects with the Ensemble Resonanz Hamburg, the Lübeck Theatre and the Deutsche Oper Berlin (stage music).
