Qi Lin

Horn


Qi Lin was born in 2001 in Beijing, China, and began playing the horn in 2008.

In 2015, she was admitted to the Middle School of the Central Conservatory of Music in Beijing, where she studied with Prof. Yi Man and Prof. Quan Wen. During her school years, she gained extensive orchestral experience and took part in numerous international exchange projects. In 2016, she participated in the European tour of the Central Conservatory of Music Symphony Orchestra.

 

In 2019, she was a member of the China Youth Symphony Orchestra (NYO-China) and received wide recognition for her outstanding performances during its European tour.

Since 2019, Qi Lin has been studying at the Hanns Eisler School of Music in Berlin. She completed her bachelor’s degree under the guidance of Yu-Hui Chuang, Prof. Sibylle Mahni, and Markus Bruggaier (horn player of the Staatskapelle Berlin). Since 2025, she has continued her studies in the master’s program at the same institution, studying with Prof. Sibylle Mahni and Yu-Hui Chuang.

 

During her studies in Germany, she collaborated with renowned orchestras, including the Deutsches Symphonie-Orchester Berlin, the Deutsches Kammerorchester Berlin, the Konzerthausorchester Berlin, the Staatsorchester Braunschweig, and the Komische Oper Berlin, gaining extensive stage experience.

 

From September 2022 to June 2023, she was an academy member of the orchestra of the Komische Oper Berlin. During this time, she further deepened her orchestral practice and continuously developed her artistic abilities on stage.

Since November 2025, she has been a member of the Berlin Brass Quintet, focusing intensively on chamber music.
